The M&M Story
Our story began several years ago when Mike and his ol’ man, Tony were kicking around an idea of starting a food truck or trailer as a side hustle. Tony was thinking a pizza truck and Mike was thinking a hot dog truck. Fast forward a few years and Mike found himself in Austin, Texas with his brotherhood of boys who took him on his bachelor party. Mike returned to Florida raving about these “kolaches” he ate the entire bachelor weekend. Everything was “man, I could go for a kolache right about now” or “can’t you make me one of those delicious treats wrapped in dough?!”. After several months of Mike begging his wife to recreate the delicious pocket of dough he once had in Austin, Melanie found herself in the kitchen making batch after batch of whatever a ko-lach-e was.
The sad truth is that there is literally no where in Florida you can go to grab a kolache. Florida is definitely missing out on something so delicious. With plans of moving forward with starting a food truck, Mike had the idea of making it a kolache food truck so that Florida could finally get a taste of what they were missing! With Tony being a huge investor and supporter of Mike and Melanie’s dream, he helped to custom design the big blue, beautiful rig that we now call M&M Foodies.
It is in this big, blue beautiful trailer that Mike and Melanie have worked together to bake a variety of sweet and savory treats, all made from scratch to bring a little taste of Texas to the Space Coast! You will not be disappointed! And they don’t just stop there! What’s better than eating a fresh kolache?....try washing it down with a fresh cup of coffee, brewed from locally roasted coffee beans! I think Tony would be proud of how far M&M Foodies have come.
Come on out and meet Mike and Melanie!
